Title of the Seminar: A Review of the Security Challenges Mitigation in IoT Systems via

the Utilization of SDN Technology

Objectives or Summary:

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to an increase in data streams,

requiring new network architectures that can accommodate the mass number of connected

devices. However, the heterogeneity and security issues of IoT devices pose significant

challenges to network infrastructure. Software-defined networking (SDN) has emerged as

a promising solution to mitigate IoT challenges. This paper presents an overview of the

challenges facing IoT networks and the use of SDN as an emerging technology to address

these challenges. The study suggests the use of secured SDN for IoT systems and

recommends the use of AI-based intrusion detection and deep learning structures to

enhance security

This seminar is following a paper that we published at ICESAT 2023 back in June

2023.

Place of the Seminar:

Seminar Hall – 3 rd Floor – Electrical and Computer Engineering Department –
