Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi

As President of the University of Duhok (UOD), it is my distinct privilege to welcome you to our institution—an epicenter of academic innovation, cultural enrichment, and community engagement. Since my tenure began, I have been deeply committed to leading UOD through a transformative era defined by strategic planning, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

A Vision for Excellence

In October 2023, the University of Duhok launched its inaugural Strategic Plan 2023-2038, a historic initiative that sets the foundation for our journey toward academic distinction and regional leadership. This ambitious roadmap is a collaborative effort, driven by our dedicated faculty, staff, and students. Together, we are striving to:

  • Achieve Institutional Accreditation: Mobilizing our university community to meet international standards and ensure the highest quality in education and research.
  • Implement the Bologna Process: Aligning our academic programs with global benchmarks to enhance compatibility and competitiveness.
  • Digitally Transform UOD: Building a robust digital infrastructure to future-proof our learning environment and administrative processes.
  • Develop a Sustainable Green Campus: Creating a walkable, eco-friendly university that embodies sustainability and promotes a vibrant educational experience.
