I am honored to welcome you to the College of Engineering, University of Duhok. We are a college that has been fortunate enough to pursue knowledge and interpret it in a way that will hopefully benefit the lives of the people around us.

The offers of our college involve undergraduate and postgraduate study programs in multidisciplinary engineering fields, namely, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and more recently Biomedical Engineering. With great pleasure, I am pleased to say that currently we have an outstanding collaboration with THM University, representing a double degree in Biomedical Engineering, and with tremendous optimism, we plan for further collaborations. At present, we are also working collaboratively on getting ABET accreditation for our programs.

As the saying goes, ‘don’t wait for opportunity, create it’. Therefore, we have solely dedicated our facilities to aiming high and planning high-quality programs focusing primarily on delivering excellence and superiority in the undergraduate and graduate programs.

Our strive for success is an ongoing process and my commitment to this university means to achieve and maintain excellence in our duties of education, research and service to our community. We are dedicated to providing exciting educational opportunities to our students so that we, together, can create future professionals in the field of engineering.

We have in more ways than one, established a clear goal in becoming a top-tier university, paving a way for our students in becoming leaders of innovation, driven by integrity, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. The College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in UoD with over 1350 undergraduate and graduate students, 140 academics, 22 teaching and research laboratories. It offers a variety of bachelor, master and doctoral programs from five academic departments with active admissions, namely, Civil Engineering (which is a combination of three departments along with the Water Resources Engineering and Surveying Engineering since 2020), Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

In the College of Engineering, we strive to develop well educated engineers who have strong technical knowledge along with the practical skills required in the modern world. We consider the role of the student as pivotal in the learning process; hence we encourage students to be innovative, critical thinkers, designers, problem solvers, team-workers as well as communicators and life-long learners. We utilize a range of laboratories and computer facilities to cater for teaching and research.

Mission

The college expected to offer services to the society through the students who graduate from its departments. The educational environment designed to meet the student's needs and to provide them with professional skills that are required for becoming a successful engineer. Employing modern teaching methods, updated research laboratories and computer facilities were the great factors in achieving this goal.

Vision

We have already experienced great success as a college, and we intend to build on that. We are looking for the internationalization of our college via creating the double-degree program with well-known universities. Our vision is to compete to be the best engineering college in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and to be amongst the best in Iraq.
