📋 About the College

The college of basic education was created in 2003. In 2002, the college started as a department in the college of art known as department of teachers. From 2003-2010, the College of basic education had five departments; Kurdish language, English language, Mathematics, Social sciences and Kindergarten. Later on, Two new departments were added to the other five departments; department of Education and psychology were added in 2010 and the department of special needs which were recently added in 2014. The college of basic education have 119 qualified teachers from all the seven departments with different certificates and scientific titles; 29 teachers are carrying PhD certificates (four professors, 10 assistant professors and 17 lecturers as their scientific titles) and 88 teachers are carrying MSC and MA certificates (1 assistant professors, 8 lecturers and 79 assistant lecturers as their scientific titles). The college offers Bachelor degrees for all the departments, in addition to Master programs in some departments.

Vision

The College of Basic Education is aiming to be a leader in the reinforcement of teaching, learning, and in progressing the knowledge which based on research and scholarship to provide the best services. Moreover, the College is focusing on preparing professionals who are eligible in providing exemplary educational and related services to improve an individual’s life to face the challenges of life.

Mission & Goals

One of the main priorities of the College of Basic Education is to prepare the exemplary educators, Researchers and scholars who are proficient in recognizing the quality and significance of their teaching research and leadership. This can be aimed through researches on a variety of fields. Likewise, the College takes into consideration the development of learners' skills on the art of teaching and learning also utilizing the technology in an efficient way. In addition, the College promotes the centrality of diversity, tolerance and democratic values among the staff and students.
