It is a bridging course that allows refugee students and students who come from conflict zones to continue with their educational trajectory in a secure and legal way. It lasts one academic year, from September-October 2019 to June 2020, and its contents are the following:
- Spanish and Catalan languages (both of them)
- Human rights training
- Information about the culture, society, labour market and university system
The number of scholarships offered is 15 and are addressed to those students affected by armed conflicts and violence and with no economic means who are living in a non-EU states. All those who pass the transition course would access master’s degree during the academic year 2020-2021, provided that they are accepted according to the master’s selection criteria.
The scholarship attached is a full scholarship that covers the free tuition for the transition course, full board accommodation in shared rooms in UB students residences and holistic support (follow-up, psychosocial support, legal advice,…).
