udents took part in the VIS MOOT Competition

At the invitation of the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), a group of four students from the College of Law participated as judges in the international commercial arbitration competition. The event was attended by the Minister of Justice and a number of Iraqi and foreign personalities and law specialists in the American University in Baghdad. The UoD contestants were awarded by the President of AUIB.

It is important to mention that last year the same team participated in the aforementioned competition and became a runner up and were able to participate in the Middle East VIS MOOT conducted online due to COVID 19 in Bahrain. The UoD team participated as judges to evaluate and take decisions about the contestants. 

VIS MOOT Court Competition is an annual international competition. Since 1993, it has been held annually in Vienna, Austria and its legal partner was established in Hong Kong in 2004. The main objective of this institution is supporting the researches related to international commercial arbitration competition and training students in the departments of law in more than 400 universities in more than 100 countries.
