UoD Career Development Center and other five CDC professionals from IREX supported Iraqi CDCs traveled to the Michigan State University to learn best practices from College of Engineering Career Center professionals. The visiting CDC professionals engaged in a wide variety of activities ranging from attending a Diversity Career Fair to taking part in trainings on social media usage and engaging student groups. One participated noted that “The training was informative and will make a difference when I go back to continue provide career services.” Once they return to Iraq they will present to fellow CDC professionals at an IREX-led training for Iraqi CDC professionals and will implement what they have learned to better engage and serve students at their universities.
