The president of the University of Duhok Prof. Mosleh Duhoky has made a one day visit to Lund University in Sweden on the 11th of March 2016 to participate in the kick off meeting of Erasmus Plus Project. He met with the president of Lund University Prof. Eva Wiberg in her office along with the project coordinators. They discussed different means of successful collaboration and the implementation of the new project.

The University of Duhok has recently granted a funds from European Union to participate in the Erasmus Plus Project along with Lund University and other partners. The project is on the development of courses in environment and climate changes, using  GIS and Remote Sensing as a first step for international MSc. 

It is worth mentioning that the UoD has initiated a center of Erasmus Plus to promote funding opportunities from the European Union to the universities in Kurdistan. The University of Duhok has succeeded to get the fund of the first call of Erasmus Plus. The UoD has recently participated in the submission of five new projects to the European Union in the second call of Erasmus Plus. This is part of the university of Duhok policy in raising funds from outside resources.
