An Art Gallery was opened in the University of Duhok

An art gallery was opened by Zana Anas Abdullah from the College of Humanities in the University of Duhok in the 29th of March 2022 under the title “The Kurdish People will Never Perish.”

The art gallery was attended by the teaching staff and student of Plastic Arts as well as the Dean of the College of Humanities, Dr. Mizgeen Mohammed Hasan who congratulated the Plastic Arts department on their prominent achievements and asserted in his opening speech that: “ the paintings gave a true and realistic expression of the historical sufferings of the Kurdish people and all the acts of oppression practiced against them.”

The gallery included 14 paintings and a short presentation about a Kurdish man being exposed to torture. Zana Anas Abdullah, a second year student in the aforementioned department explained that: “the gallery will be opened for two days and the painting, although done I different artistic styles, all reflect the miseries of the Kurdish people and the discrimination they had to face. My clear message in the paintings is the acknowledgment and appreciation of the Kurdish individuals suffered from oppression and the preservation of their history.”  

In his word, Mr. Dilgash Jasim, the Head of the department confirmed that they have activities throughout the academic year and that they offer utmost support to students’ activities.
