A Meeting Gathering the Schools of Physical Education Acroos the Arab Nation in Erbil
The Dean of Educational Sciences, Dr. Odit O. Assi, announced that the University of Duhok (UoD) had recently joined the Arab Academic Sports Association which includes the colleges and institutes of physical education.
Dr.Assi, along with the Head of the School of Physical Education, at UoD, participated in a conference organized in Amman- Jordan at the beginning of October, 2011. The title of the meeting was “The Creativity of Sports." Dr. Assi said that, “The UoD and specifically the School of Physical Education had become a member of the association, after participation in two conferences in Amman." ''One important decision that was made at the conference in October was to organize another meeting for the Arab Homeland in April 2012. The conference will take place in the Kurdistan Region and will last for three days.'' "Kurdistan includes four Schools of Physical Education in four universities namely: Duhok, Salahaddin, Koya and Soran."Therefore, organizing a conference in the region can be the motivation required for these universities to develop and be creative with sports." Dr. Assi added “Representatives from various Arab countries will take part in the conference which will be held in Erbil, where discussions on the situation of physical education will be discussed during the meeting."
