The UoD Represented Iran, Yemen & Iraq in the Annual Meeting for Erasmus Mundus Program in Brussles
The Vice President for the International Relations Office at the University of Duhok (UoD), Dr. Daewood Atrushi, participated in the annual meeting for the Erasmus Mundus Program held in Brussels- Belgium on Sept 23rd, 2011 The UoD, represented three countries namely: Iran, Yemen and Iraq.
Dr. Atrushi said that “This meeting was arranged after the success of the last meeting which was held in Duhok City on the 6th and 7th of Sept 2011. It was the first time the Erasmus Mundus Program had been held outside the European Union. As a result, an invitation was made to the UoD to attend the annual meeting in order to discuss new plans”. Dr.Atrushi went on to say," During the meeting, I had the chance twice to discuss our three years experience in this program. We, as a university, benefited enormously,
when many of our students and staff were accepted into scholarships to continue their graduate studies, as well as participating in training and scientific visits within the program”. The total number of UoD’s participants in the Erasmus Mundus Program in total was 63 for the last three years.
This was the first time that the UoD took part in the annual meeting, and around two hundred people worldwide participated. Attention was made on the discussions of the UoD's contributions in spite of its short life in the program.
