The Kurdistan Regional Government KRG, in association with Avro City Housing Project Company in Duhok and the UoD, started a special venture to assist the UoD instructors to have modern apartments near to the university campus.
The government would grant an amount of 10,000 dollars for the non-beneficiaries instructors, also, the Directorate of Housing and Reconstruction would lend an amount of 25,000 dollars to the UoD staff that would be deducted from their salaries for a period of 10 years after receiving the apartment. The registrars for these apartments would be required to pay an amount of 20000 dollars to the company within a period of 3 years
Dr. Ari Adel, representative for the Teaching Staff at the UoD, said,’’ During the first stage of the project, the company will build 160 apartments that will be distributed to the teaching staff by lottery on July 6th 2010”. Dr. Ari added “The contract is very important as it is going to solve the housing problem for the teaching staff. We hope that, in the future, a similar contract would be signed for the university administrative staff.’’
It should be noted that there is a limited period for registration and the apartments would be distributed to the instructors by lottery.
