A Delegation from Regional Reconstruction Team RRT Visits the UoD

After the new head of the RRT in the Kurdistan Region/ Duhok Office commenced his duties, a delegation from the American organization paid a visit to the UoD on June 6th, 2010, for further talks between the two parties.


The new head of the RRT Office in Duhok discussed with Dr. Asmat M. Khalid, President of UoD, means of joint work, and how to continue the cooperation between the RRT and the university. It is well-known that the UoD and the RRT have accomplished a number of joint projects  together, among them the TOEFL Center ,and English Proficiency Courses,


Dr. Khalid said, ‘’the UoD needs American university instructors to teach special courses for the UoD students.’’ ‘’ He added at this present time there is a group of American instructors teaching at the UoD; who have just completed their contracts, and now the UoD was in need of new experiences from new instructors.


The President asked for the RRT’s support in opening a department for American Studies at the UoD at the level of Master and PhD, and in holding a conference on Peace Establishment, in which a large number of personalities from local and international universities would participate in 2011.
