He added “in our visit on March 22nd, 2010, we signed a general memorandum of understanding without specific subjects being dealt with, but this visit was different as we discussed in detail an agreement of joint co-operation”. Dr. Dawood added “This agreement is compatible with the program of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Region, which showed readiness for support.’’
Later the visiting delegation met with the University Board, where they discussed sending a number of UoD students to the British University and arranging for students from Plymouth University to visit the UoD. Another point discussed was sending graduate students who have recently gained their PhD in the Kurdistan Region to Plymouth to observe the education system there. Moreover, the two parties discussed giving joint certificates for students participating in these visiting programs.
During their stay, the British delegation visited the three universities in Kurdistan; they also visited the Higher Institute of Planning, the College’s of Medicine, Science and Agriculture at the UoD.
