The Students Delegation from Lund University Arrives to the UoD

A group of students from Lund University in Sweden arrived at the UoD on February 25th, 2010 for scientific research on the geological areas of Duhok..

This visit is very important as it is the first time a group of students visited the UoD for such a purpose.
 
Dr. Nazar Numan, the coordinator from the Higher Institute of Planning, said “According to the program, the student spent four days in Duhok  Governorate where they visited Zawita, Sersink and Amadi and there mountains. The students spent 8 days in the Kurdistan Region all together”.
 
The delegation consisted of 13 students and two instructors. The group  met with students and instructors from the UoD and carried out research concerning their own scientific subjects, taking these findings back to their university in Sweden.
 
Earlier this year, Dr. Dawood Atrushi, Vice President for International Relations at UoD, made a formal visit to the Lund University, he met with the UoD students who are studying there, to see their situation and needs. At that time and during the visit, the possibility of sending a group of students from the Swedish university to the UoD was discussed.


The UoD has a cooperation agreement with Lund University and other universities in Sweden like Uppsala University.
