A Seminar on How to Apply for American and British Universities

Encouraging students to study outside Iraq is the main priority for the International Relations Office at the UoD. Therefore, it was decided to hold seminars in each of the universities colleges to explain to the staff and students the correct procedure for applying for higher studies in the United States and Britain. The first seminar was held at the College of Law and Politics, on February 15th 2010. It was presented by Dr. Rund Hammoudi, Manager of the Relations Directorate, and Mrs. Susan Shaikhow a staff member.

Dr. Hammoudi confirmed that the UoD will help those students who are willing to apply for higher studies abroad. She said, ’There are many requirements and prerequisites for the students to prepare before applying to any American universities; like the standardized tests ( TOEFL and GRE) together with recommendation letters and the letter of intent.

 At the end of the seminar, the attendees discussed important points related to the mechanism of applying for higher studies abroad. At the same time, they valued the importance of this seminar as a helpful guide.

The International Relations Team will continue to deliver the lectures to every colleges according to their timetable.
