  • The university was established on October 31st, 1992.
  • The university started with two colleges, the College of Medicine and the College of Agriculture, with 149 students total.
  • Today, the university contains:
  1. 17 colleges and the Higher Institute of Planning.
  2. More than 40 departments.
  3. More than 11,000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students.
  4. More than 10 centers of different specializations.
  • The university is a member of the following:
  1. Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Windows Program.
  2. International Association of Universities (IAU).
  3. European Association for International Education (EAIA).
