The City of Duhok is the center of Duhok Governorate in the Kurdistan Region. It is located beautifully between two mountain ranges and has a very old history within the Kurdistan Region as revealed by the archeological monuments.

The University of Duhok (UoD) was established on October 31st, 1992, with two colleges and 149 students. Today, the University has expanded to contain 10 faculties with 14 schools; it has more than 11,000 undergraduate students and about 500 graduate students among different specializations.
