The first colleges to be established in the university were the Colleges of Medicine and Agriculture, today there are fourteen Colleges each with specialised departments.

The University of Duhok, has an undertaking to supply an educated populace to the public and private sectors while conducting value added research. While well aware of its singular mission in society, each college seeks to equip its students with the skills and capacities required, organized through departments and faculty staff.

Therefore the vision of the University of Duhok is very much colleges of the twenty first century committed to research and teaching, covering the hi-tech disciplines of the future as well as preserving ones from the past.

Providing facilities such as laboratories, computing services, sports and extracurricular activities to all registered students the University of Duhok nurtures and encourages ambition and excellence through a learning environment.
