 About the Department
The Departement teaches medical physiology for Medical College student in the second year and also teaches general and clinical physiology for postgrdute students in the clinical departments.

physiology is one of the most importent basic subjects for Medical College students.

Therefore, teaching of this subject makes the students well oriented obout normal functions of different organs & systems of the body.

This provids a scientific base for the students to understant the pathophysiology and abnormalities that occur in different diseases

 Description
For postgraduat students in clinical departments, the syllabus deals with the pathophysiology of different diseases based on the clinical ground.

Postgraduat lectures are organized in such away that each group of lectures fits with the speciality and subspeciality of the field in wich the students are working in

 Objectives
The syllabus of the second year students includes two parts:
  • First-Theory lectures that involves cellular, general and systematic physiology of all body systems.
  • Second- Paractical physiology, the students are directed to have a good knowledge about the principles of measurment of common hematological parameters such as homoglobin measurement, PCV %, ESR...etc; and training on the measurement of physiological parameters for the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous systems and special senses.
The department conducts also postgradute studies (M.Sc.and Ph.D.) in the field of medical and clinical physiology which include intensive & advanced lectures in medical and clinical physiology and completed by accomplishing a project of a research each according to its degree.
