The department is involved principally in teaching General and Systemic pathology to Third year Medical Students.
The total number of lectures 110-115 over two courses.
Graduate studies at the Department of Pathology (2007-2008):
In October 2007 Two MSc students in Hematology, will present their theses for viva.
Another MSc Student in hematology is scheduled to complete his thesis January 2008.
Two Other MSc Students in hematology are scheduled to start their research work November 2007.
One Msc Student in Clinical Hematology will be enrolled (joint supervision with Pediatrics department) October 2007.
Four Students (BSc graduates) will be enrolled in a one year diploma in Laboratory technology-Hematology this academic year (2007-2008)
The Department is also jointly supervising two PhD students, one with the college of education at our university, the other with College of Medicine- Hawler Medical University.

- Male and Female reproductive system pathology.
- Endocrinology.
- Breast Pathology.

- Nervous System Pathology.
- Bone, muscle and Joint Pathology.
The Department is also involved in teaching clinical pathology to 5th year students, which is about 10 lectures in the second term General Medicine.
