Graduating medical students with efficient and satisfied theoretical and

- Number of units for under graduate third year students :
A- four hours theory per week in different fields of microbiology .
B- six hours practical ( two hours per group) per week in microbiology .
C- two hours theory per week in parasitology .
B- six hours practical ( two hours per group) per week in microbiology .
C- two hours theory per week in parasitology .
D- six hours practical ( tow hours per group ) per week in parasitology.
- Conducting and supervision of post graduate studies in microbiology and parasitology :
A- one year Diploma degree in microbiology and parasitology including theoretical and practical courses in fields of microbiology and parasitology with clinical dissertation at the end of courses .
B- M.Sc. degree in microbiology and parasitology , include one year time of theoretical and practical courses in fields of microbiology and parasitology followed by another year of clinical thesis on clinical ground .
C- Ph.D. degree in clinical microbiology consist of three years study .

- Teaching of MICROBIOLOGY & PARASITOLOGY to the third year medical students. The curriculum in the third year includes the followings :
A-THEORY SESSIONS
- Basic bacteriology , teaching the 3 rd year medical students the structure and classification of bacteria , genetics , antimicrobial agents , pathogenesis , microbial metabolism .
- Systemic bacteriology , teaching the different classes of bacteria and diseases caused in human.
- Basic and systemic virology , general properties of viruses , classification ,virus structure and composition , genetics , pathogenesis of viral diseases , and antiviral agents and vaccination .
- Immunology , the principles of immune system immune responses, humoral and cell mediated immunity , autoimmune mediated diseases .
- Parasitology , classification of parasites , medical parasitology, diseases caused by these parasites in man, pathogenesis and modes of transmission .
B- PRACTICAL SESSIONS in microbiology and parasitology in specialized lab .
C- teaching CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY to the 5 th year medical students in relation to clinical microbiology.
