About the Department
ObjectivesThe undergraduate curriculum in surgery is the basic stage of surgical education.
We intend to built a foundation for future learning and practice .the graduated junior doctor should have basic information about surgical conditions that make him deal with the patient in a safe clever way within the limits of his experience, not jeopardizing the patient life .
The department endeavor to give the minimal standard information to the undergraduate student that is enough for him to deal with the surgical problems that he might face.
We select the lectures carefully from well documented sources. We recommend textbook and encourage the student for further reading.Clinical sessions are well organized with expert surgeons giving the students their experience in various surgical subspecialties.
These sessions aims at improving the skills of clinical examination, dealing with the patient and corporation of the theoretical information in the practice. The student must work effectively with his colleagues and ask for help whenever needed. Attitude and behavior are part of the medical education; humanistic dealing with the patient is our goal.
