The Plant Protection Department of the faculty is housed in a new building with several well-equipped and up-to-date labs. It was established in 2008 and is supported by the university and the Regional Government of Kurdistan. It plays a major role in educational and research programs. The department consists of two main branches: Entomology and plant pathology.
