The School of Administration and Economics plays a vital role in today's roller coaster economy in this modern era of globalization and development. Due to increased demand for administrative and economic experts in today's profit and demand business environment, the Kurdish business world has expressed a strong need for the College of Administration and Economics.
The University of Duhok, School of Administration and Economics, has been providing students with high quality academic programs that build critical business management skills, essential for achieving long-term success and the ability to deal with the complexities of the environment at company and industry level, both nationally and internationally.
The School was an expansion of the Department of Economics – originally connected to the College of Arts – in December, 1996. Following the expansion, the University of Duhok quickly became recognized as one of the leading comprehensive and competitive business colleges in Iraqi Kurdistan. Our graduate programs followed soon after, and continue to draw students and faculty from all over the region by offering day and evening classes to earn advanced degrees. The secret to our success is our accomplished faculty who provide a superior level of education; and student population of approximately 800 that rises to the challenge of our aggressive curriculum; and applied experience in the form of relevant internships, on-site field projects with local and regional companies, in-class projects, and case studies that address the most topical business themes. Our graduates leave with a clear understanding of major problems and policies in the real world of business and become the main resources of the future business leaders and managers in the region.
The strategy of college is to produce primary and higher scientific graduates in the fields of (Economic, Business Administration, Finance and Bank Science and Accounting).
The collegeanswers a call of serving the society by taking part in solving problems of industrial and services organizations of the government as well as the region.
The School is designed to provide students with a broad theoretical and applied background of business and the development of a prosperous economic system. The Administration program tackles the problems of creating an efficient and effective administration for modern industrial, commercial, and public sector operations.
The Economics program is structured to give students an understanding of the major problems and policies in the business setting and to explain the reasoning behind using various theoretical models. The School strives to meet the educational needs of our students and Iraqi Kurdistan by facilitating a learning environment and strengthening student's commitment to education.
There are good relationships between the college and other colleges, private sector and governmental directorates by continuous education courses and offering advice on all consultations requested. There is astrong cooperation exchange between the college and other colleges by the supervision on higher education researches and study courses ,besides dealing with external Examiners to acess high educated student thesis.
The college has relationships with many different parties through scientific fields. Concerning cultural relationships, there are relationships with cultural centers such as the Cultural and Social Center which is related to the University of Duhok and also there are relationships with civil society.
